Il y a quelques années, pour Babylon Radio puis pour Radio Dublin, ont été produits un certain nombres de shows culturaux musicaux. Les radios correspondantes n’existant plus, il me semblait dommage de laisser a l’abandon tout ce travail. Les shows suivants sont donc maintenant disponibles en téléchargement. Ils sont en Anglais, et les playlists sont dons les commentaires suivant ce post.

Un petit post très simple car les jours sont cours en ce moment.

La petite Lora PriyaKorn Lambert est née le 31 Janvier 2011 a 9h37 (GMT+7) du matin à Siracha, Thaïlande, par césarienne. Elle se porte merveilleusement bien, est joyeuse et coopérante, et pesait 3.4Kg à la naissance. La maman se remet tout doucement mais est pleine de joie et de bonheur. Le papa est aux anges. Tout va bien et nous sommes tout à notre bonheur actuellement.

Description d’un mariage traditionnel Thaïlandais ^_^ / Traditional Thaï Marriage Description ^_^

Salut les gens

Nous nous sommes mariés la semaine dernière lors d’une cérémonie très colorée.

Ce fut un moment intense, unique, et très certainement l’expérience culturelle la plus profonde de toute mon existence.

Comme d’habitude, les photos sont en bas de page en dessous de la version Anglaise. J’ai tenté de les commenter au maximum, mais certaines images ne peuvent avoir de mots pour les décrire.

Il faut savoir que cette cérémonie purement Thaïlandaise était totalement organisée par la mère de Korn, et était plus en son honneur qu’au notre. Il était important de montrer qu’elle mariait sa fille avec succès, et que le couple était économiquement viable. Si Korn est une Thaïlandaise extrêmement moderne, issue de la ville et de la technologie, ses origines sont plus situées dans les régions reculées proche du Meh Kong et de la frontière Laossienne.

Personnellement, je tenais a suivre la manière de faire typique, a la manière d’antan, et comme la famille de Korn le demandais. Quitte a faire les choses a la locale, autant suivre le véritable rituel traditionnel. J’ai donc décidé d’adopter mon plus joli sourire et je me suis laissé guider tout au long de ces deux jours pour un fabuleux voyage hors du temps.

Tout d’abord le mercredi soir, une fête avec tables et spectacle cabaret nous aura permis de nous présenter a tout le monde. Photographe professionnel, décorations florales, traiteur, les choses étaient faites en grand. Il a ensuite fallut se lever a 4h30 du matin le Jeudi afin de recevoir les moines locaux et de pratiquer la cérémonie en elle même. Le rituel est un peu compliqué. Il paraît qu’il a tendance a disparaître de nos jours, et je trouve cela dommage. Il y a la une couleur typique mêlée a une sagesse antique qu’il serait dommage de laisser se perdre.

Le principal est que nous sommes maintenant mariés. Reste a faire reconnaître notre mariage auprès des autorités locales et du gouvernement Français. Ce n’est pas le plus simple, surtout du coté Français ou visiblement rien n’a l’air simple bien que tout soit présenté comme indispensable. Pour simplement avoir un certificat comme quoi je ne suis pas marié en France, il faut se prêter a un véritable parcours du combattant remplie de requêtes stupides et inutiles, longues, a effectuer en personne en un lieu situé loin de chez nous ou le sourire et la bonne humeur sont des mythes et des doux espoirs. Mais nous en reparlerons très certainement en temps utile.

Hi guys

We married last week during a very coloured ceremony.

It was an intense moment, unique, and certainly the deepest cultural experience of all my life.

As usual, pictures are at the bottom of the page just after this article. I tried to comment them at the maximum.,But there’s now words for some pictures, they have enough on themselves.

You have to know the ceremony was organised by Korn’s mother, and was more dedicated to her than to us. It was important for her to show she married her daughter with success, and to be certain our couple has economical viability. If Korn is a very modern Thai person, from the city and the technology, it is not the same with her family and her origins. She comes from a deep part of Thailand, near the Meh Kong and the Laos border.

Personally, I wanted to follow the typical way, like before. If it was to follow the local way, so it was better to follow the real local traditional procedure. Anyway, it was what Korn’s family asked as well. So I decided to use my best smile, and I followed events during these 2 days for a fabulous journey out of time.

First, the Wednesday night, we had a feast with tables and cabaret shows and we could introduce ourselves to everybody. Professional photographer, flower creations, caterer, things were made the right way. Next, we had to wake up at 4h30am the next day to receive the local monks. The ritual itself is a little bit complicated. It seems to disappear a little bit these days, and it is a pity. There’s a typical colour and a antical wisdom there, and it would be a shame to let all this to be lost.

The most important point is we are married now. We still have to try to register our marriage to the civil governments, Thai and French. It is not the easiest part, especially in the French part where nothing seems to be simple even if everything is told to be necessary. To just have a certificate saying I’m not actually married in France, there’s a fighting cross to do full of stupid and useless queries, long, to do personally in place far away from home, and where good mood is a myth and smiles are hope. But we will certainly talk again about it later.

Il faut maintenant montrer l’argent. Celui sert a démontrer la viabilité du couple et le sérieux du prétendant. Nous avons montré 200 000 Baht It is time now to show the money. This one is to show the couple financial viability, and the seriousness of the pretendant. We shown 200,000 Baht
Symboliquement, cet argent est remis a la mère. Dans l’ancien temps, cela représentait la dotte. Symbolically, we give this money to the mother. In the old times, it was the dowry.
Une partie de cet argent a servi a payer la fete et les dépenses liées au mariage. Le reste nous a été rendu. A part of this money was used to pay the feast and the expenses, The rest of it was given back.

Puis, chacun vient lui aussi prendre un bout de ficelle blanche du Phakoun pour nous en faire un bracelet, et fait une offrande pour le couple. Then, everyone comes to take a piece of white string from the Phakoun to make us a bracelet. They also give an offering to the marrieds.














Tout le monde, la famille proche d’abord, les amis ensuites. Everybody, close family first, followed by friends
Nous voila donc marrié avec pleins de bracelets représentants les voeux de bonheur de tout le monde, et les offrandes pour le couple. So here we are, married with a lot of bracelets. They represent wishes of hapyness from everybody. Here are as well the offerings for the couple.
Ensuite le lit conjugal est décoré avec des petales de rose. des pieces de monnaies spont placés dans chaque coeurs. Next the bed is decorated with rosy petals. Some coins are disposed in every hearts.

Achetez de l’or mes amis. Comme le disait dernièrement un ami a moi, l’investissement le plus judicieux actuellement, c’est la maison de campagne avec la source et le potager.

Ou alors faites comme moi : trouvez vous un coin tranquille, supprimez votre abonnement au câble et arrêtez de regarder les infos. Le Paradis, ca peut très bien se construire a base de choses simples, dans son coin, avec ceux qui le veulent bien.

Salut les gens

J’avais envie de parler de l’Irlande, que j’ai quitté il y a maintenant quelques temps. L’Irlande, ce pays de verdure, qui a connu l’euphorie du tigre celtique puis la récession sanglante.

L’Irlande est un pays qui marque ceux qui y vont. L’effet semble irréversible, on en revient marqué dans sa chair.

Ce qui manque le plus quand on se souvient de l’Irlande, ce sont les gens. Cette espèce de simplicité, d’honnêteté¸de franchise totale, dans les bons comme les mauvais cotés.

Je suis confiant pour l’Irlande et les Irlandais durant ces temps troublés. Personne n’a jamais réussi a les soumettre ni a les abattre. Et puis l’ile restera verte, quoiqu’il arrive.

Allez, buvons une Guiness ce soir a la gloire des Irish. Vous me manquez, mes amis!

Salut les gens

Après quelques jours au paradis, je me décide à mettre à jour mon blog. Il est possible que je j’écrive quelques articles de manière rétroactive pour meubler les derniers mois.

Il n’y a pas grand chose à dire pour le moment. Enfin si, mais il y en aurait presque trop. Le point à retenir est que je suis amoureux dingue d’une Thaïlandaise qui porte le doux nom d’un groupe de Heavy Metal. Korn (se prononce Gorn) est formidable. Sa société immobilière nem arche pas top mal, surtout au regard de la période calme et du ralentissement de l’économie mondiale et Thaïlandaise. Nous parlons de nous fiancer suivant le rituel Thaïlandais. Il est dommage que le projet de société d’Outsourcing soit ralentit et en pause, car cela bloque certaines dépenses.

Le problème avec mon métier est que je ne peux accepter qu’un projet à la fois. Ce qui signifie que quand je suis en train de travailler sur quelque chose et que l’on me sollicite, je dois refuser. Et quand je me retrouve à devoir prospecter à nouveau, ce n’est pas forcément synchronisé avec les demandes de mes partenaires. Il faudrait que je puisse me développer et grossir pour pouvoir engager de la main d’œuvre et travailler sur plusieurs projets à la fois, cela me rendrait moins dépendant. Malheureusement, je suis visiblement plus doué en technique qu’en développement commercial.

Mon partenaire principal me fait terriblement peur en ce moment. Il a vraiment un mauvais passage, et j’en suis désolé pour lui. Je le respecte profondément et j’ai appris à lui donner ma confiance. Je le regarde progresser techniquement, et même si nous avons encore parfois des petits soucis liés à la précipitation ou à la volonté d’aller trop vite, nous avons tout de même du bon boulot durant toutes ces années. Nous sommes devenus bien meilleurs que la plupart des autres intervenants en ingénierie que nous croisons, et ce constat fait bien plaisir.

Je regrette de n’avoir pas le temps de rejouer de la musique pour de vrai. C’en est navrant. Il n’y a pas assez d’heures dans une journée.

Les cours de Thaï sont difficiles, j’ai un peu ralentis la cadence ces dernières semaines… On considère qu’il faut 1 000 Heures de cours à un Européen pour assimiler le langage. Parfois la motivation est dure à garder. Heureusement, Korn m ‘aide et grâce à sa famille et ses amis, je sens l’utilité des progrès.

After a few days in paradise, I take the time to update my blog. There’s a strong possibility I write some articles in the past to fill the last months gap.

There are not a lot of things to say these days. Errr, maybe yes, almost too much
The important point is I’m totally crazy and in love with a Thai woman named like a heavy metal band. Korn (you have to say Gorn) is great. Her property company works fine, if we consider the low season and the international and Thai economical downturn. We talk about getting engaged, following the Thai ritual. It’s quite bad the Outsourcing project is delayed and on hold, because it blocks some expenses.

The bad side of my job is that I can accept only one project at the same time. Every time I work about something, I have to refuse all the others propositions until I’m not busy anymore. And when I have to prospect again, it’s not automatically the good time for my other partners. I should try to grow and hire some staff and work in more than one thing at the same time. It was the plan! Unfortunately, I’m obviously a better technician than a commercial manager.

My best partner terribly frightens me these days. He really has bad times, and I feel sorry for him. I deeply respect him, and I learnt to trust him and to believe in him. I watch him going technically better and better. Even if we still have some small inconveniences with haste and too fast thinking, we made a great job these years. We became better than most of the other engineering teams we meet sometimes. I enjoy this : )

I regret to do not have time to really play music again. It’s a shame. A day should have more hours.

Tai lessons are difficult. I slowed down my learning these last weeks… Usually 1 000 Hours are needed for a European to learn the language. Sometimes, it’s hard to stay motivated. Hopefully, Korn helps me and thanks to her family and friends, I find my progress useful.

Je tenais à vous présenter la nouvelle société de ma femme: SK HOUSE AND CONDOS

Donc pour tout ceux qui veulent s’échapper d’Europe durant ces temps incertains, vous savez ce qu’il vous reste à faire. Vous pouvez investir dans un appart en bord de mer, ou louer à court ou long terme. Niveau visa, si vous avez des questions, je commence à être callé sur le sujet et je me ferais un plaisir de vous renseigner si vous en avez le besoin. Il y a possibilité d’avoir un visa annuel automatique pour les retraités qui justifient d’un certain revenu. Pour les touristes, vous avez automatiquement 30 jours renouvelables une fois. Cela laisse la possibilité de louer une chouette maison un ou deux mois pour se faire une idée sur le pays.

Et puis le site est 100% en XHTML/CSS, il passe le validateur W3c, et ca me fait plaisir de le montrer : )

So for everybody who wants to escape Europe during these difficult times, you know what to do. You can invest in a sea front apartment, or rent for short or long term. Regards to Visa maters, ask if you have any question, I know a bit about now and I will be happy to explain how it works. It’s easy to have a retirement Visa if you can justify a certain income. As a tourist, you have 30days access and you can renew it once. It’s long enough to rent a nice house 1 or 2 months, the time to make an opinion about the country.
