=> English Version <=

Radio Dublin : From the Sun, to the Stars!!!!!

Once you will understand what these guys are trying to do, you will never come back from it

Failte Africa – African life in Dublin
In consonance with the motive of RadioDublin which is to reach all immigrants in Ireland, I shall primarily target immigrants with African background and those seeking to know more about the continent. Furthermore, I intend to discuss developments and issues that resonate with my listeners especially on the economy and socio-political aspects of Irish life and the globe.

Radio Dublin : From the Sun, to the Stars!!!!!

RadioDublin.net, from the Sun to the Stars, to YOU!!!
The fact is that we all live in this era of globalization, isn’t it? This is the prelude to a practical diffusion of all culture and people the world over. We are not here to judge the process, rather accord it our positive voice. It’s too late to contest the trend of this aspect of globalization as it has already begun and there’s nothing to do against it, hence the birth of this radio station. Because the new world is going digital and interconnected through the internet, we decided to bring RadioDublin.net to your service for an active participation. Indeed it is time to show and explain to each other our cultural differences and heritage. As humans continue in this process of cultural discovery, RadioDublin.net shall garnish and support the process from its base in Dublin. So this is to say that the city of Dublin shall beam RadioDublin.net to the world 24hrs live!!!!!!!!!!!!

So here we are since Sunday the 19 of October when we hit the airwaves. The website and the grid will improve as the weeks roll on. We hope you will eventually enjoy our work and you will have as much good time as possible because that is why we are into it. We know there are other ones; however we wish them all the best as we are together on planet earth. Thou we came late on board but remember the first shall be the last.

Do you want to join us?

Our concept is very simple and based on a community spirit. You want to join us? Just come on, we shall definitely allocate a broadcasting time to you. Our target? The world. Come on board and play your part with your custom and artistic liberty. Come and express your creativity with passion. Artists, journalists, media students etc are all invited and beginners will be offered a helping hand. We are excited to be involved in your cultural and artistic presentation because we have been passionate about it for years. Some of us have wild experience in the music industry and the audiovisual environment, others are writers.
RadioDublin.net is autonomous and doesn’t have underlying interest apart from reaching out to the interconnected world we are in through music and talk shows. We won’t use your work or image to promote any 3rd party commercial gain.People from minority backgrounds can come with a sense of safety and pride because RadioDublin.net prioritizes their interests. Our way of pulling the airwave strings will surely impress you.
Once more, we invite talented, open minded and free people: if you have exceptional contributions to make, culture to show, knowledge to share: join us, produce your shows, and feel free to come up with them. Come on board, let’s have fun. Yes, its time for fun and intercultural global activity from our natural base in Dublin. Never forget to have fun.

Ukachukwu Okorie (Olumo)is a Nigerian based in Dublin since 2005.
He has a Master’s degree in Globalisation from Dublin City University (DCU).
As an African, he understands the importance and complexities of culture, as
such he came on to radiodublin.net to propagate the rich heritage of his
    continent through music and talks.

His show FAILTE AFRICA brings to the global audience a mixture of Africa’s kind
of lyrics (old & new school). The Failte Africa show equally highlight issues
affecting immigrants in Diaspora especially those in Europe. As a Columnist in
Ireland’s multicultural weekly (Metro Eireann), he has the grasp of what it
takes to make you feel at home when you are away from it. In line with the
ideals of radiodublin.net, he intends to bring Africa live to curious minds
wherever they may be. Apart from the musicals, his shows bring to your ears,
voices, debates and opinions of unsung heroes around the world. So, do you want
to feel the African nature or get to have a break from the stereotypical
channels? Listen to FAILTE AFRICA on http://www.radiodublin.net.

    Stéphane Lambert (Dark Flower)

    – Nationality: Human race member with an EU passport. The world is my territory, and I belong to nobody.
    – D.O.B: 07 of March 1972 in the East of France.
    – Star sign: Pisces (ascendant unknown)
    – Things I like: Beauty. Complexity. Diversity. People with talent, skills, something special. Anything interesting. Freedom.
    – Things I don’t like: Mediocrity. Short thinking. People who don’t do what they said they will. Betrayals and dishonesty.
    – Job: It consultant specialized in Web technologies, audit, analysis and Open Sources software (Self Employed).

I think I started music before school in Classical French Conservatory (theory and Violin), and I had a special primary school half musical half traditional. I switched to electric guitar the day I discovered « Highway to hell » and « Black Out » when I was 13 and I never came back from this dark side. I’ve been member of several Heavy Metal and Thrash metal bands from 15 to 22, covering almost all songs from Metallica, Slayer as well as some Megadeth and Anthrax (Guitar, Bass, sometimes Drums and always Sound Engineering). I also had a big passion for some German and Nordic bands like Helloween, Stratovarius and the Heavy movement. I also played a lot of pop songs in several meetings and surprised concerts for money, and I recorded a lot of demos and I stored a lot of ideas with the hope to be able to produce them one day. My maximum audience has been 1,500 paying entries in July 1992 for the Rock Opera AG1908. I stopped bands and rock live performances in 1995 for personal reasons and I refused to touch my guitar again during more than 10 years. I restarted playing for myself in 2007 and sometimes I jam with people and friends.

I also have passion since all time for technology and electro music. I worked as a D-Jay to pay my college, sometimes in techno parties, most of the time just to make people dance on pop and fashion tracks. I made an electronic album (10 tracks) with a maxiCD (5 tracks) in 1996 with a small success in France under the name of VEDIOVIS. 1 track passed on radio, and another was played in Nightclubs during a few months. It was a pure experimental work made with trackers as my friends were demomakers (IT stuff). Press and professionals liked it well even if I still think today it was too cold and impersonal, without enough human emotions, and maybe some tracks were not ready to be displayed. But it was first at all the occasion to show song writing skills and the opportunity to become a member of the national SACEM (Authors Composers and Musician Society) as an official national composer. I received an award in Lyon in 2000 in a contest for young talents where I finished 3 in the electronic area and 4 in the general rank, as Best Hope of the Country. The commercial success wasn’t enough to start a musical career but it was good fun and I met some of my best friends I still have. In fact I’ve never been able to choose between electronic and heavy rock and it’s like that. Furthermore, I like to go pop sometimes as well, as I love diversity and we have to stay open minded at the maximum if we want to have a chance to understand a bit of the world.

At this step with my show I will introduce you to an area where you will find some of the best actual musicians of the planet: Progressive, Neo Classical and Heavy revival. With Classic Music and Jazz Rock, it is definitely the style where the best technicians are today. Maybe these guys are not the most famous artists on the planet and are just ignored by traditional Medias. Some of them are self produced and have difficulties just to feed themselves as professional musicians. Some others are comfortable enough in their life to concentrate only on their creativity for our own pleasure. All of them are pure masters of their instrument as I consider also voice as an instrument on its own. The lyrics are often more advanced as well with poems, stories and concept albums, even if it can be sometime difficult to catch at the first time. Their music can be very dark or very positive as they explore the world in their way, totally and over usual limits. Their names are Rhapsody, Edguy, DragonForce, Malmsteen, Stratovarius, Helloween, Angra, Vitalij Kuprij, Dream Theater, Nightwish, Michael Kiske, Avantasia, Ayreon, Jens Johanson, Richar Andersson,… They play well, they play loud, they play fast and they play complex. They sing high to fill all the frequencies, and only them can go so high except some classical opera singers. Maybe a certain time can be necessary for a new listener to get used to this style of music. But one thing is certain, they can play, they can sing, and they deserve at least a small audience in an alternative radio like RadioDublin.net just to introduce people to their work. I will show you that.

Cheers, and talk to you soon.
